Diploscapter coronatus is a free-living nematode, phylogeneticaly placed in between the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans and its satellite Pristionchus pacificus. It reproduces parthenogenetically- neither males or sperm have been observed and some steps of meiosis are skipped.
